Robert West Portfolio

Pictured below are a few items I have produced. Unfortunately these photos only represent a very small percentage.

Thank You to all of my clients for your support and trust.

If you need something custom made, either personal or corporate, please feel free to e-mail me at rwwest@telusplanet.net  anytime. Custom Diamond Engagement rings and wedding bands are my specialty. If you have your own ideas, I would be happy to make them a reality.

Expert and Professional Jewelry repairs are also available.

If you would like to see my Automotive line of Jewelry (WrenchHead Jewelry) or visit my car hobby site (My Love Of Cars), just click on the appropriate link on the right.

The Tanzanite and Diamond Pendant below is reversible. It is finished on both sides to allow the wearer some flexibility.

Pictured below are a pair of my hand carved waxes in progress. This is the first stage of a custom piece. As you can imagine, it can take many hours to get the details just right. The owl weighs 35.0 grams of 18 KT yellow gold finished. A pair of bezel set black spinels into the eyes to replicate pupils was an excellent choice. This mount has a personality of it's own when seen in person.

The second wax is my interpretation of an Ancient Celtic Harvest symbol. The original wax was flat, but I domed it to give it depth. It is presently cast in Sterling Silver as a master model, and will be moulded. After it is moulded, the pin/pendant will be cast in 18KT Yellow Gold.

Here is a new one for the avid Horse enthusiast. I carved this model just recently. An updated photo will follow upon completion. With a blue sapphire or a diamond in the eye, this classic brooch would make an excellent gift or wonderful family heirloom. It will measure approximately 1 1\2 " x 2" upon completion. If interested in purchasing this item in 18Kt Gold or Platinum, please contact me at the e-mail located in my profile.

This beautiful 14 mm Tahitian Pearl with Diamonds set in 19KT White Gold, was conceived and sketched by a local customer ( Akhila ). Her drawing made it easy to produce a wax model for her approval. This was truly a great experience for me. I wish all my customers entered this process with such enthusiasm. What we have here are a few photos taken at different phases of completion.

I have recently been engaged in developing a new line of Automotive, Sport and Trade Inspired jewelry ( WrenchHead Jewelry). This is a new direction for me, but something that I have been wanting to do for a long time. I have always been an automotive enthusiast. I now have 15 pieces in my line and will be marketing them in the near future. I also have an E-bay store showcasing a few items. These are truly unique and not available in Retail Jewelry Stores anywhere.

Below is a picture of one of my carburetors . It is highly detailed in two tone 14Kt, and weighs approximately 25.0 grams.

This is my Goldsmithing Shop. Beside creating items of the calibre portrayed above, I also provide all jewellery related services to my clients.

My e-mail contact is available in my profile section above for any enquiries. Thank You for visiting my portfolio and feel free to leave feedback at the bottom of the page. Just click on the word comments below.

This site shows your versatility and eye for perfection. Not just great setting skills, but well executed finishing. There are very few goldsmiths or jewelers that can pass this level of scrutiny. Nice work.

Mr. West is clearly one of a rare breed of master craftsmen who still exist in our jewellery industry. His finishing techniques are clearly of the highest standards. Few goldsmiths would want their work to be photographed in such detail.
These photographs are a joy to view and serve as an example for all goldsmiths out there!

Robert, All of your jewelry is outstanding. I find the owl as showing exceptional sculpting skills. It takes talent to get something to come alive in that medium. Kudos.

I am going to forward this site to everyone I know. We are dumbfounded at the relatively unknown status of your skills and your incredible jewelry Robert !!!My family has been in the jewelry business for 40 years and still remember when quality was the norm, not the exception.
Keep up the great work.

I see you are now listed on the Canadian Artists, Art Galleries & Resources Directory. I own several examples of your work, but didn't know where you had gone. I am glad to have found you again. I will be in touch.

Custom work has always been your strong suit. We have had several extraordinary rings done by you and couldn't be happier. Thanks for the effort that you have made in making our jewelry purchasing experience a pleasure. We no longer live in Edmonton, but always refer our friends and family to you. P.S. That Pearl ring is incredible.

To those that read this, Robert does extremely difficult work. You have a great talent for bead setting that is becoming a lost art. Hard to find someone that does it all from start to finish these days. I wish my Goldsmiths had your skills. Honestly, I own a shop with four Goldsmiths that unfortunately do not come close to this skill level. The telling is in the details. I would love to meet you on my next visit through Edmonton.

I am so glad I found this site. One of Canada's little known, but understated talents, Robert West has skills that most Goldsmiths rarely achieve. The custom engagement mount I purchased from you in 1998 is absolutely beautiful. Rarely does a day go by that I don't recieve a compliment on my rings. Thank You Robert.

I bought one of his 14KT Carburetors out of his new line WrenchHead Jewelry. Awesome Pendant. The details are incredible. Love it!!!! It's much heavier than The pictures suggest.
